PLAYABILITY / COMFORT / QUALITY ASSURANCE
The bass neck has the same characteristics as our JP series of instruments – inherent playability, and comfort. The balance of each
string is accurate and defined, without any ‘boomy’ resonant frequencies even across the fifth string’s range. Each instrument is
inspected for quality against our strict requirements at our headquarters in Italy. Gloxy series bass guitars receive the same standard of
care and attention as our higher-end instruments.
MB INSTRUMENT PRE-INSIDE
The Gloxy series is equipped with the same MB Instrument Pre that is featured on our premium range of instruments. This onboard
preamp is designed from the ground up by Markbass to faithfully reproduce the sound of your instrument. Changes in the volume level
when switching from Active to Passive and back again are almost imperceptible – a unique feature of the exceptional circuitry inside.
Simple & ergonomic controls allow you to richly boost or cut your EQ without clipping or distorting the signal – even at the maximum
settings – allowing the MB Instrument Pre to work with you in any environment.

The 3-way toggle switch allows players to select between each pickup or combine both for a full-bodied sound.
- Hardware and Tuning Stability: The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge provides precise tuning stability and enhanced sustain. Paired with the aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, this combination offers improved resonance. The Grover Rotomatic tuners, featuring Kidney buttons, guarantee reliable tuning adjustments, while the Graph Tech nut adds further stability.

HVX maple shells
The Performance Series begins with DW’s US-built, handcrafted HVX hard rock North American maple shells. The HVX grain orientation arranges wood plies horizontally, vertically, and diagonally for a deep and satisfying fundamental. Shells are baked in pressure molds (2600 PSI at 200°F) then immediately Cool Tempered to crystallize the glue, maximizing strength, roundness, and resonance. Toms come crowned with pinpoint 45° back-cut bearing edges to enhance attack and increase head response; the kick drum features 60° edges for richer depth and effortless playability.
Proprietary DW hardware
Unique to the Performance Series are DW’s reduced-size Quarter Turret lugs. These offer a decidedly sleeker, more modern appearance that many DW artists prefer. A closer look reveals much of the same hardware found throughout the DW’s Collector’s Series:
